Nominations for the FIDE Chessable Academy

Dear Member Federations, As we have recently announced, FIDE has entered into a six-year commercial partnership with  Chessable , the world’s leading chess  E-learning platform. As part of this agreement, we are launching the  FIDE Chessable Academy , a three-year junior educational program to be implemented by the FIDE Trainers Commission (TRG). We are inviting all member federations to nominate two of your very best  young talents, a boy and a girl, between the ages of 8 to 16. Your federation is also entitled to have additional places if you have any  young talent in the top five rankings in their age group (under-8, under-10, under-12, under-14, and under-16, as per the 2021/01/01 rating as well as any winners at the World Youth and Cadets Championships 2019 (open and girls) in the same age group categories. In 2021, the program will run from June to December and will provide a  minimum of two hours online every two weeks. At least the top 12 participants will be selected to attend

Announcing winners of FIDE Trainer Awards for 2020-21

The FIDE Trainers Commission is pleased to announce the winners of the 14th FIDE Trainer Awards for 2020-21, which recognize and celebrate the achievements of the chess training community.   Rustam Kasimdzhanov  (UZB) wins the Mikhail Botvinnik Award for the best achievement in Open Section competitions. Kasimdzhanov was a second for former World Champion  Viswanathan Anand , whom he helped in the preparation of his WC matches in 2008 against Kramnik, 2010 against Topalov, and 2012 against Gelfand. He was also the trainer of Sergey Karjakin in the Candidates Tournament of 2014, and then of Fabiano Caruana in the Candidates Tournament 2016 and the 2018 World Chess Championship match against Carlsen. Ni Hua  (CHN) receives the Vakhtang Karseladze Award for the best achievement by a trainer in women’s and/or girls' competitions. Changes to FIDE Regulations for the Titles of Trainers / FIDE Endorsed Academies to be effective July 1st 2021

OCM-2021/027  To approve the changes for the FIDE Regulations for the Titles of Trainers / FIDE Endorsed Academies proposed by the Trainers’ Commission which shall come into effect from July 1st 2021. OCM-2021/028  To approve the recommendations of the Trainers’ Commission on titles and Academies.
